BBJ’s BPTW Event in Boston

At Timberline, culture starts with our people, and for the third time, they’ve earned us a spot on the Boston Business Journal’s Best Places to Work (BPTW) list for 2026. To mark the occasion, our team gathered at our Canton office for a celebration complete with a BBQ, drinks and great company – a chance to recognize an achievement that belongs to every member of our team.

What makes this honor so meaningful is where it comes from. The BPTW program is based entirely on anonymous employee feedback, asking team members for their honest opinions on everything from work-life balance and job satisfaction to leadership and growth opportunities. The recognition is a testament to the team we have at Timberline and came directly from our people, and they said it best (shared anonymously through the BPTW survey):

“I appreciate the culture and community our leadership and teammates have built and I look forward to growing with this team for years to come.”

“Leadership and coworkers work hard to foster a positive environment both inside and outside of the workplace. A good work-life balance promotes personal well-being and motivates employees to put 110% effort into every project. I believe this business is successful in its ventures and has great growth potential. I feel appreciated by my coworkers and managers and I really enjoy working here!”

It is also a reflection of the culture we work hard to build together. Our motto, “Exceptional. No Exceptions.”, is the foundation of how we operate. We believe strong leadership and teams create great work that delivers exceptional service to our clients. To live that promise, we intentionally invest in our people through programs, benefits, and experiences that support growth, well-being, connection and purpose.

That starts with helping our employees grow. We host regular lunch-and-learns on professional and personal topics, provide leadership opportunities, and encourage involvement in external industry organizations to build professional skills and a network. Just as we invest in how our people grow, we invest in the well-being of our entire workforce.

In 2025, we launched a company-wide safety training video, reinforcing our protocols and emphasizing safety as a shared responsibility and a cornerstone of how we work. Safety is a commitment that extends beyond the jobsite and is important to every member of our team — from our budgeting and estimating efforts through to project closeout. Additionally, our on-site gym and continued encouragement of healthy habits support both physical and mental health.

Connection is just as central to our culture. Our employee-led Culture Club plays a key role in building relationships across the company, planning events and initiatives through committees and regular meetings that build connection to the company, to one another and to the community. Giving back is a core part of who we are — through the Culture Club and our “Committed to Community” initiative, we offer volunteer opportunities and actively promote nonprofit partnerships. As a part of those initiatives, we launched an employee donation matching program in 2026, matching our employees’ charitable donations, giving an opportunity to make an even greater impact on the organizations they care about.

Above all, we encourage team members to bring their whole selves to work, celebrate wins together and support one another personally and professionally. That is what the 2026 BPTW recognition is all about, the everyday habits, initiatives and programs that turn a talented group of people into a workplace worth celebrating.

Straight From Our Team

Being a BPTW speaks for itself, but our team’s feedback is the true indication of our culture. Here are some additional comments, shared anonymously, that are worth acknowledging. Thanks to Team Timberline and all of your efforts in allowing us to be the BEST!

“This company is great to work for, and they do a nice job of letting you manage your projects without overstepping and micromanaging. They treat you like a professional until they see otherwise.”

“TCC has been a great fit for my team and me. They hired us to start a new business line and took a risk doing so. They value the contributions of my team and the work we do. They care about making sure that we enjoy the company and each other, and they try to build a great culture.”
