Winning projects include corporate renovations for BJ’s and bluebird bio, and a historic restoration building conversion

Canton, MA – Timberline Construction Corporation (Timberline) is pleased to announce three of our recently completed projects were recognized as Engineering-News Record’s (ENR) Regional Best Projects earlier this month. ENR, the construction industry’s top publication, presented our teams with these significant accomplishments at their December 1st, 2023 Award event in Boston.

The three award-winning projects include:

BJ’s Headquarters

BJ’s Wholesale Club was honored with the Award of Merit for Interior/Tenant Improvement for the 2023 completion of their new headquarters. This relocation included an intricate, phased move-in plan with a successful flexible workspace featuring a grand reception and a 1st-floor test kitchen dedicated to client-facing entertaining. In addition to BJ’s, the team included JLL (project management), IA (design architect) and Avid Engineers (MEP/FP engineer).

bluebird bio

bluebird bio received an Award of Merit in the Small Project category. Given the construction took place in an occupied building in Assembly Row without access to a freight elevator, this project includes multiple creative ceiling designs and excellent flexible space utilization. In addition to bluebird bio, the team included Federal Realty Investment Trust (building owner), JLL (project management), Jacobs (design architect) and NV5 Engineers (MEP/FP engineer).

Union Mills 37

Union Mills 37 took home the Best Renovation/Restoration Project Award, recognizing the team’s purposeful renovation, restoration and repositioning of this old mill building into affordable and workforce housing in Attleboro, MA. The project team included 37 Union St Attleboro, LLC (building owner), Trina Jerich (project management) and Davis Square Architects (design architect).

“The fact that our team has been honored with multiple awards from ENR is a testament to the exceptional work we perform daily with our project partners for our clients,” said Timberline’s President, Steve Wassersug. “These awards demonstrate our consistent performance and mission to continually strive to be the best in the construction management business.”

Thank you to ENR for these significant recognitions and congratulations to all winners who made this year’s Regional Best Projects list.
