Design-build Lab Relocation and Renovation

Exosome, a leader in molecular diagnostics focused on developing tests that detect disease biomarkers, selected Timberline to complete a design-build lab relocation and renovation in Waltham.

The 5,600 SF two-phased project transformed existing lab space, storage areas and a janitorial closet to create quality control, product development and recertification labs. The scope included interior upgrades, architectural modifications, HVAC improvements and alterations to electrical systems to accommodate the new layout. The reconfigured space was designed to streamline process flow, improve efficiency and support a range of testing and development activities.

Our team coordinated construction activities while working in an occupied lab, ensuring minimal disruptions to ongoing operations. This required strategic phasing, close coordination with Exosome and careful scheduling of planned shutdowns to tie in new systems. By sequencing work to minimize downtime and maintaining strict safety and contamination control measures, Timberline successfully delivered a modern, functional space that supports Exosome’s mission of advancing precision medicine.
