Building the Infrastructure Behind Tomorrow’s Technology

This technology leader embarked on a renovation to a Massachusetts facility to include the addition of 400 IT racks and open office space. To keep up with the demands of technology on their business, it was imperative they transform this former office space into a data to support security, storage and innovation.

This major increase in IT capacity required extensive upgrades to their electrical capabilities and infrastructure. Considering the initial building use was just for office space, the facility did not have the electrical capacity to support the 400 racks. Our team worked with National Grid to increase power supply by tapping into the nearest lines underground 600 linear feet away feeding into a new 2500 KVA transformer.

This power supply also feeds the new, ground-up mechanical building constructed on the site to support the chillers and pumps, cooling towers and new chilled water piping system. Our work also included renovations to the open office space.
