Worcester, MA – Timberline Construction Corporation (Timberline) is pleased to announce the completion of the Fuller Family Park renovation at the YMCA Central Community Branch. The revitalized outdoor space now stands as an inviting hub for recreation, play and community gathering, delivered as a part of the YMCA’s Community Grows Here capital campaign.

Created nearly three decades ago as a community gathering space, this project built on the original vision by turning what was once a vacant lot into a completely reimagined park that better serves the community today. With support from local donors and community partners, Timberline led the comprehensive restoration of the park to reinforce the space’s role as a vibrant, inclusive anchor for the Main South neighborhood and the more than 23,000 residents living within a five-mile radius.

”The reopening of Fuller Family Park is a shining example of what’s possible when community, philanthropy, and purpose come together,” said David Connell, President and CEO of the YMCA of Central Massachusetts. “This park is more than just a physical space; it represents our shared commitment to creating vibrant, inclusive environments where youth and families can thrive. We’re proud to stand alongside Timberline and our community partners in reimagining a neighborhood gem that will serve Worcester for generations to come.”

The renovation transformed the long-standing park into a dynamic space designed to serve families, youth and residents of all ages. Key upgrades include a fully reconstructed multipurpose sports and basketball area, an improved walking and jogging path, a modern recirculating splash pad supported by a new mechanical building, and a redesigned playground that promotes healthy activity and overall accessibility.

The newly constructed pavilion and amphitheater offer flexible spaces for performances, events and community programming. Site-wide enhancements to lighting, landscaping, seating, and ADA access ensure the park is safe, welcoming and functional year-round. Together, these improvements support the YMCA’s mission to foster wellness, connection, and opportunity, creating a lasting resource for both the neighborhood and greater Worcester community.

The project was completed in collaboration with civil engineer Weston & Sampson and the City of Worcester, whose partnership and expertise were instrumental in bringing this project to life.
